Real World Basic Manners is a fun curriculum where we work each week in a different simulated “environment". In this weekly class, for older pups and dogs of all ages, we will review behaviors and then we will set the scene. We will practice basic obedience relevant to each setting, work on impulse control and end with an obedience challenge. This class will focus on giving you the tools to help your dog become a well mannered, polite member of the family and society.  The goal is for you both to enjoy each other even more than you do now.

We will be practicing newly learned puppy skills in “Real World” environment sessions including:

 

Week 1   Meet and Greet Session 

Week 2   Home Office Session

Week 3   Neighborhood Walk Session

Week 4   Company for Coffee Session

Week 5   Trip to Park Session

Week 6   Dinner Time Session

 

These sessions will focus on working with distractions, duration and distance.  You will learn how to keep your pup calm in busy, loud, every day situations.  After each session, you will be emailed handouts to help with your daily at-home training sessions.  Each weekly session at OTL will be fun, educational and you and your pup will leave feeling confident.

Prerequisite and Requirements

• Proof of current vaccinations (rabies, distemper, kennel cough) is required to participate 

• Dogs are required to wear a simple flat collar and standard 6 foot leash. Front fastening harnesses, such as the Easy-Walk, are permitted in class but may not be used during the test. Please, no retractable leashes, choke or pinch collars.
