AKC STAR PUPPY Group Class

The S.T.A.R Puppy Class is designed to get you and your pup off on the right paw. This class is open to those age
12 weeks to 9 months. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy training is a natural lead in to the AKC® Canine Good Citizen® Program.
Upon completion of the 6 week course, your pup will be tested by a CGC evaluator. Successful completion of the
exam will earn your pup a diploma and metal signifying their accomplishment. Your puppy will be listed with the
AKC as having completed this certification and you will also receive the AKC Puppy Handbook.

Date: Course runs 6 weeks, attendance is mandatory at 6 sessions to qualify for course completion.

Prerequisite and Requirements
No previous training is required. STAR Puppy, is a first class of 2 required classes, needed to take if you are thinking of doing any pet therapy work.

Class is open to all dogs up to 12 weeks - 9 months in age

Proof of current vaccinations (rabies, distemper, kennel cough) is required to participate

Dogs are required to wear a simple flat collar and standard 6 foot leash. Front fastening harnesses, such as the Easy-Walk, are permitted in class but may not be used during the test. Please, no retractable leashes, choke or pinch collars.
